December 2008
Going to tune into the talkcast from my kitchen counter. http://tinyurl.com/2h8gtu
Why is there a giant crowd of teenagers outside Kosher Delight on 37th and Broadway?
Dammit, forgot to have coffee today. No wonder my head feels like boiled goat butt.
November 2008
Stalling on getting lunch and going shopping, because it’s rainy and nasty outside.
Glad to hear from @heidihoover, but now running late for 5pm meeting. In the rain.
The kids let me sleep in, but now I’m afraid to go downstairs and see what kind of Lord of the Flies breakfast they’ve made.
Currently thankful for: Parking spot on the block + only 1 kid asleep to haul up to bed, 2nd one awake to help carry coats. :-)
We didn’t have Twitter last time @heidihoover went to Germany — feels like she’s much closer now.
So very full of 2nd Thanksgiving. May need autopilot for drive home.
Rotten traffic on 287 E toward tappan zee
Spontaneous visit to Roadside America, since we are on 78.
Night Pageant at Roadside America: Statue of Liberty, Stars + Stripes, and a big ol’ picture of Jesus.
Download speeds at the in-laws had me griping, until I realized I was the one who set the wifi to 802.11b-only. Switched to g, better now :)
Digital converter activation, multi-system TV with skewed channel tuning — these are no match for the power of SuperGeekSonInLaw.
Packing up for tomorrow’s trek to @richrose & @lisaerose for 2nd Thanksgiving.

Call it the Touchable Penguin. OK, the touchscreen drivers aren’t there yet, but the simple, scrolling shell output of a
Kiosk check-in is quite challenging for some infrequent flyers.
Journey begins for @heidihoover, 2 weeks in Germany — send her bon voyage (+ send me patience/stamina with the kids).
A little tempted to drive into town, cadge leftovers from @blankbaby and @marusula
“Mike, can you get this TV working?” Hmm, cable box is borked. “Oh, I have a new one…” July 2007 digital converter. Oy.
AT&T wireless users +/- on YouMail, GotVoice or Callwave for voicemail2email? Since @heidihoover will be charged intl roaming for vmail :-(
Wondering why 18-wheeler was off-road, facing down exit ramp — then saw the trail of churned turf and the toppled “wrong way” sign. Yikes.
Heading for PHL; @heidihoover is leaving for Berlin.
I’m so sleepy I’m asking Twitter to proofread — and compounding my stupid by going to bed. Be gentle. http://tr.im/1l6w

Headed back to Opa’s house after a delectable dinner + much cousin carousing. Nice that all 5 kids (3yo-7yo) can play together now.
Kids are playing balloon catch with the Great Dane, which is not a euphemism for anything.
And the commentators have no idea why Rick is there. :-( Al Roker should have squealed “We’ve been rickrolled!”
OMG all of America just got rickrolled by Macy’s and NBC.

2 MBPs to migrate, only one FW800 cable… but you can migrate 10.5-10.5 via an Ethernet patch. Excellent.
Leavin, on a jet plane — heading for 4:30 shuttle back to NYC.
Going dark for the flight home.
Lunch with Larry G.
Hmm… Comcast business cable 20,000 kbps down / 155 kbps up. Bringing new meaning to the word ‘asymmetrical.’
In keeping with my car karma today, BQE is packed solid and our dinner guests are already at the house.
Awake, but not entirely happy about it. Headed for LGA in 20.
Driver is taking us to LGA via the Belt Pkwy / Van Wyck, which is like getting to LA from SF via Las Vegas — a bit of a gamble.
